In the wake of 2016 hotel security footage of Sean “Diddy” Combs physically attacking his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura coming to light, and Diddy’s recent apology video that followed, rapper Cam’ron was asked for his thoughts on CNN — and his interview was memorable, to say the least.

Per the New York Post, Monday night’s (May 20) interview was conducted by the network’s Abby Phillip, who asked the rapper — whose full name is Cameron Giles — about his reaction to the startling footage.

“When you saw that video of Diddy [and] Cassie in that hotel, did you recognize that Sean Combs?” she posed.

Cam’ron deemed “everything” in the video to be “egregious,” explaining that he’s “against” what took place.

“So when I seen the video, yeah, I was kind of upset with it,” he added. “Being that I know him — he’s not necessarily a friend — but yeah, I was upset when I seen it.”

Phillip then questioned the rapper as to whether he’d “recognize[d] that kind of anger at all from [his] experiences,” causing their conversation to spiral into chaos.

“I don’t know him like that. What do you mean did I recognize him?” Cam’ron replied. “I seen him. What do you mean my experiences? I seen him and I thought it was disgusting. I didn’t do a zoom-in to see if it was really him or nothing. But he admitted it was him, so yeah, it was him.”

In terms of what Cam’ron thought about Diddy’s apology, which was posted on social media on Sunday (May 19), the rapper replied, “The apology ain’t for me to decide, it’s for Cassie.”

“What I think about it don’t matter,” he continued. “He didn’t do nothing to me. You need to ask Cassie if she accepts the apology. I told you how I feel. I said what I said.”

Phillip proceeded to pull up a clip from a Sept. 2023 episode of Cam’ron’s podcast, where he asked fellow rapper Mase why he chose to take him to Biggie Smalls as opposed to “Bad Boy,” referring to Diddy.

Mase recalled at the time that he “saw [Cam’ron] as such a good friend,” noting that “instantly, [he] knew Biggie would do right by [him].”

Following the clip, Phillip inquired as to whether there is “something known in the industry about how Diddy treated his artists.” On that note, Cam’ron took a swig of his Pink HorsePower, a natural supplement “designed to empower man’s sexual intimacy by helping to improve stamina and libido,” per his product’s website, and took a moment to promote the supplement, telling Phillip that he was “going to get some cheeks” afterward.

He eventually shifted back to the topic at hand, noting that he’s “just going off what Mase said.”

“Mase sent me to Biggie. I don’t really know Puff like Mase knows Puff,” he continued, referring to Diddy as Puff. “So, I appreciate what Mase said, and of course that’s my brother. So if he felt that way, then he felt that way. I can’t really tell you how Puff moves or anything like that. Mase may know better than me because he was signed to Puff, I wasn’t.”

He then took another moment to promote his It Is What It Is podcast, telling viewers that it airs on YouTube at 8 a.m. ET.

“I might get some more information out of Mase from there, but for me to tell you how Puff act and all that? I don’t know, I never was signed to him,” he added.

Phillip asked about “the industry in general,”citing that “so many people have pointed out that Diddy couldn’t get away with this stuff if there weren’t a lot of people protecting him.”

“Do you think that’s the case?” she added.

Cam’ron responded, “Who the talent agent for this joint? You think I be sitting around watching what Diddy do and all this? I didn’t know this was a Diddy joint that y’all invited me to. Yo, who booked me for this joint?”

Phillip swiftly concluded their chat by thanking Cam’ron for his time. Cam’ron has since taken to Instagram to share a clip of his appearance, per The Daily Beast, and also addressed his appearance on his podcast.
