In today’s post: Cute bunny pretzel treats are easy to make in about 15 minutes. Your kids will love helping you with this simple Easter treat.
An Easy Easter Treat
Salty pretzels and sweet chocolate are a match made in heaven. Chocolate pretzels treats are one of our very favorite snacks: they’re quick to make, easy enough that the kids can help, and surprisingly tasty. This Easter Bunny version is no exception! They only take 3 ingredients and about 15 minutes to make. Drawing on faces with a food marker is totally optional – they’re adorable either way.
Ingredients
You only need three things to make bunny pretzel treats:
- Square Pretzels: I use Snyder’s Snaps pretzels
- White Candy Melts
- Spring Colored M&Ms
If you’d like to add faces to the bunnies, you can use a fine tip food marker, which you can find in the cake decorating section of most craft stores. I ordered this set of three food markers from Amazon and they work great.
How to Make Easter Bunny Pretzel Treats
These are super simple to put together! I’m including some photos below that show each step so you won’t run into any frustration.
Prep The M&Ms
Begin by cutting some of the M&Ms in half. It’s easiest to use a small, sharp knife that does not have a serrated edge. Place the knife on top of the M&M and press straight down for a clean cut.
For each treat, you will need 1 whole M&M and 2 M&M halves. Sort them by color so it will be easy to find what you need after you melt the candy.
Melt the Candy Melts
Lay pretzel snaps out on a microwave safe plate – a paper plate works great. Top each pretzel with one white candy melt. Microwave at 50% power for 30 seconds at a time until the candy is soft and somewhat melted. This will probably only take a minute or a bit more total. You want the candy to be soft enough to press an M&M into it, but not so melty that it’s dripping through the pretzel.
Add the Bunnies
Working quickly, drop a whole M&M onto each pretzel, then add two M&M halves to make ears. Gently press the M&Ms into the melty candy. If some of the candy melts set up before you are able to add the bunny, simply move those pretzels to another paper plate and microwave again at 50% power for 30 seconds at a time until soft.
Draw Faces (Optional)
Allow candy melts to set up completely – this should only take about 15 minutes. Then you can draw on two dots for eyes and a tiny “X” for a nose if you’d like to. Be aware the food marker needs a couple of minutes to dry before you touch the pretzels again or the ink may smear.

Instructions
Begin by cutting some of the M&Ms in half. Sort out as many M&Ms as you'll need by color (1 whole M&M and 2 halves for each pretzel treat).
Lay pretzel snaps out on a microwave safe plate (a paper plate works great). Top each pretzel with one white candy melt. Microwave at 50% power for 30 seconds at a time until the candy is soft and somewhat melted.
Working quickly, drop a whole M&M onto each pretzel, then add two M&M halves to make ears. Gently press the M&Ms into the melty candy.
Allow candy melts to set up completely – this should only take about 15 minutes. Then draw on faces if desired. Let ink set for a couple minutes before touching the treats.
Tips
You’ll be able to make LOTS of these bunny treats with one bag each of pretzels, candy melts, and M&Ms. However, you will want to work in batches of 25 (or less if kids are helping) because the candy melts set up quickly. If some of the candy melts do set up before you are able to add the bunny, simply move those pretzels to another paper plate and microwave again at 50% power for 30 seconds at a time until soft.

I have a very shaky hand but still managed to make these. I used my pill cutter to cut the candies in half. Worked great!Reply
