3. Line chopsticks along one block and chop horizontally, then flip it over and chop diagonally. This should give you an accordion shape.

Pat the potatoes dry with a paper towel then season with salt and pepper to taste.

4. Next, heat oil in a saucepan or deep fryer on medium heat. Cook on both sides for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown. Place potatoes on a paper towel in a plate to soak excess oil.

Tips and Tricks

  • Potatoes: Make sure you use chopsticks as this will prevent you from slicing the potatoes all the way through. You can also leave the potato skin on if you like.

  • Then, slice the sides and the top of the potatoes. The potato should resemble a large block. Next, slice the potato into equal-sized 1 centimeter or 0.4 inch blocks.

  • Next, heat oil in a saucepan or deep fryer on medium heat. Cook on both sides for 3-5 minutes or until golden brown. Once fried, remove the potatoes from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate. This will help soak up any excess oil.
