10 Spider-Man
Spider-Man is Marvel's most popular character, helping keep New York City safe from all manner of foes. For years, he was a reserve Avenger and finally joined the team after Scarlet Witch destroyed Avengers Mansion. Spider-Man may not be the most powerful hero, but he more than made up for it with his tenacity in battle.
Spider-Man constantly throws himself into battle against enemies that are more powerful than he is. The reason why he wins has little to do with his powers, and is more about the fact that he never gives up. Spider-Man keeps fighting until he can't anymore, something has allowed him to rise to the top of the hero community.
9 The Wasp
The Wasp has been with the team since the beginning. While her powers weren't the greatest, she more than made up for it with her gumption, throwing herself into the fray. She soon surpassed nearly every member of the team, eventually reaching the highest heights of the Avengers. Her tenure as leader of the team showed just how far she had progressed.
Janet Van Dyne has hung with the Avengers through thick and thin. When things are at their worst, she comes through clutch, her shrinking power and wasp stings allowing her to hit her enemies in places no one else can. She may have started out as a wealthy debutante, but she has the heart of a warrior.
8 Captain Marvel
Carol Danvers joined the military at a young age, before joining up with Mar-Vell and her Kree powers awakening. She made a name for herself as Ms. Marvel, joined the Avengers, adventured in space with the Starjammers as Binary, and returned to Earth and the Avengers as Warbird. She'd go back to being Ms. Marvel before eventually taking up the mantle of her old mentor, becoming Captain Marvel.

Captain Marvel's dedication to heroism is legendary. She kept fighting despite several serious setbacks and proved that she deserved to be among the most important heroes on the planet.
7 Wolverine
Wolverine made a name for himself with the X-Men, joining the ranks of Marvel's most influential heroes. He joined the Avengers around the same time Spider-Man did, and brought the tenacity that made him famous with the X-Men to Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Wolverine fit in better with the Avengers than anyone ever imagined, and became a mainstay of the group for a time.
Wolverine doesn't say die easily. He's as tough as adamantium skeleton, jumping into every battle and tearing through anything in his way. He's never met odds he wouldn't face.
6 Iron Man
Iron Man has spent years proving his worth. Tony Stark took a load of shrapnel to his chest; any other rich person would have laid down and died. Stark fought to survive, creating the armor that would make him a hero. Since then, Iron Man has had his share of problems, but they've never kept him down. He's a problem solver and doesn't stop until things are solved.
Iron Man's methods have been called into question by other heroes, but he's still trying to fight evil. He may make mistakes in the commission of things, but his heart is in the right place. No one ever questions his dedication, even if his zeal has led him to some rather dark places.
5 Captain America (Sam Wilson)
Many of Marvel's best fighters join the Avengers, which is how Sam Wilson joined the team as Falcon. He learned the ropes from Steve Rogers, becoming a tough as nails hero despite having no powers. He reached the top of the hero community when he took Rogers's place as Cap. His two tenures as the Sentinel of Liberty have proved that he's the best of the best.
Cap throws himself into every fight despite his lack of powers. Sam never gave up as Falcon and now that he wears the red, white, and blue and carries the shield, that goes double. He proved his dedication ot the cause, and that's why he became Captain America.
4 Scarlet Witch
The Avengers are no strangers to controversy, with Scarlet Witch causing a lot of problems for the team in her tenure. However, she never stops fighting, which is the important part. Wanda Maximoff has been through trauma like few others, and never lets it keep her down. Even when she does something terrible, she does her best to make up for it.
If anyone should have given up by now, it's Scarlet Witch. The things she's been through would break anyone, but she keeps going. She's as tenacious as they come, proving her worth to the team every chance she gets.
3 Hawkeye
The Avengers battle the most dangerous enemies imaginable, which makes members without superpowers all the more impressive. Hawkeye is a regular human with a mastery of the bow and arrow, and really has no business on the Avengers on paper. However, few other members can match his sheer tenacity and that's what makes him such a valuable Avenger.

He's smart and skilled, but his determination is what really puts him over the top. Hawkeye could stay back and fire off arrows to his heart's content, but instead he's right up front. Hawkeye doesn't know any other way to fight, and he pulls off miracles all the time.
2 Thor
Thor is Marvel's greatest warrior, and has been protecting Earth and Asgard for millennia. He's the Avengers' powerhouse, with nearly immeasurable strength, the powers of a god, and the might of Mjolnir backing it all up. It's a mistake to think all of that power makes him any less tenacious than his fellows, though. Thor is powerful, but the enemies he faces are more so.
Thor has battled threats like no other Avenger. It doesn't matter who they are, Thor never stops fighting. The once arrogant god has learned to fight for others, and has even chose saving the people of Earth over that of Asgard. He's the Avenger everyone calls on when the world-ending threats show up.
1 Captain America (Steve Rogers)
Captain America is the most inspiring hero on Earth, frequently considered the leader of the heroic community. Steve Rogers was chosen to become America's greatest soldier during the '40s and created a legend that inspired for generations. His awakening in the present saw him return to the fight, facing an entirely new world of threats.
Rogers was thrown into the fire in the modern day, battling the greatest foes out there. He was used to super soldiers and Nazi troops, but he soon found himself facing an entirely new caliber of enemies. No one would even think to question his tenacity or his dedication, as he proves it every time he makes his way on the field.
